It is hard to believe Ashfest was one month ago. The 2 weeks we spent in North Carolina flew by before I knew it. Everything is still crystal clear; pulling up to the farm late in the evening, loading the kiln, firing, visiting artists studios, unloading, then driving home. A whirlwind of experiences, friendships, and learning leaves me looking forward to next year. Everyone loved the process we introduced, with several folks saying they’ve never seen this type of approach to wood firing before. We all learned a ton of useful, and useless (lol), information and thoroughly enjoyed each others company.
Have a good look at the additional pages on the site. We have added some information on the firing, farm, suggested clay, etc. to help everyone prepare for next years Ashfest. I have hundreds of pics from everyone who participated, and will be adding them to the “blog” section along with a short summary of individual experiences. There will be lots of pictures, and writings added to the site in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back in periodically. If you have any questions about Ashfest 2015, please contact me directly. The registration form is up on the “info” page for you to download and mail in with your payment.
Below are some of the pics I took, from Ashfest 2014. Hope to see you at Ashfest 2015! Justin
